Announcements: E-Mail Policy - Deleted Items

Title

E-Mail Policy - Deleted Items

Body

In an effort to manage space and performance on our infrastructure, within the next 7-14 days, we will be implementing an additional e-mail policy that involves retention of items in users’ Deleted Items folders. At that time, items left in the Deleted Items folder will automatically be permanently removed from the system after 60 days.

What does this mean to you? In the event that you mistakenly deleted something, you get a 60 day grace period to recover it from this folder. After 60 days, please assume that the item is unrecoverable. Based on our research in other organizations with similar policies, we have found that this timeframe is more than adequate.

Please continue to “clean up” your Inboxes as I have described in earlier correspondence, and thank you very much for your continued assistance in helping us to maintain an efficient e-mail system.
